Lean Into The Light
Kimberly Cunningham
At first the blackness offers comfort.
It becomes a blanket that protects.
You feel serenity, safety, and security.
This provides a cover from life's wrongs.
Blind eyes see crystal clear in the fog.
Yet, not one person can view your wounds.
Here in dullness things are extremely bright.
Unseen and hidden away, you exist there, free.
Soft distant aura offers no solace.
It hurts hard to be in the presence of warmth.
Soul fears the exposure that glows bring forth.
Many hours are lingering til peace dawns.
Light to you equates pain, suffering, rejection.
Light has been denied by deep cuts for so long.
In your mind, the brilliance is a threat.
Fearful of what exists in the sun, you coil up.
Though at this time, the dark stabs and inflicts.
There is no safety and shelter here anymore.
Heated glorious awakening is coming now.
Brilliant star is beginning to shine and highlight
and beam down so strong it sways the body.
Rays reflect in your eyes, warm up prickly skin.
All senses are sharp and fully alert.
Let it pour down and fill every gash.
Lean into the light.
Let it brighten you.
Lean into the light.
Let it keep you.
Lean into the light
Let it hold you.
It is no longer darkest before this dawn.
It becomes a blanket that protects.
You feel serenity, safety, and security.
This provides a cover from life's wrongs.
