Fierce Ocean
Linda M. Crate
a flux of waves
rolls in and out whispering secrets old and new telling me stories i could never think to know otherwise, and as everyone shied away from the cold; the ocean depths pulled me into her song and soon i found myself singing a lyric i had never thought to sing something new and original lost to the ears of any beach goers something intimate between her and i and i think she liked my song for she never knocked me to my knees as she did one summer-- she merely teased me with a wave that knocked me jovially forward without injury, and i'd like to think it was because she understood i respected her; but i don't know how the ocean always thinks except she's always been a force of nature i have known better to cross for her beauty like any wild beauty can be fierce making things difficult to all those who oppose her will-- just as i will be if anyone thinks to fracture any of my dreams. |
